And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the Countenance Divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among these dark Satanic mills?
Bring me my bow of burning gold:
Bring me my arrows of desire:
Bring me my spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire.
I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand
Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land.

JESUS IN BRITAIN?
What happened to Jesus during his years as a youth and young man?
The notion has frequently been expressed that he travelled, perhaps to Persia,
perhaps to India..........but to Britain????
Legends abound concerning the possible visit of Jesus, in company with Joseph
of Arimathea (his adoptive father?) to Somerset and Cornwall....
but why would they want to come to this northern outpost?
Possible reasons for such a visit (and a lot more) are to found in the extraordinary
book by Gordon Strachan: Jesus the Master Builder, publ'd 1998 and 1999
by Floris Books. Within this book are to be found significant testaments by St. Augustine
and the Domesday Book to a mysterious church built at Glastonbury that probably long pre-dated
the influx of Christianity into this country during the 4th and 5th centuries.
